The Dutch mobility system

This study applies the Multi Level Perspective (MLP) on the Dutch mobility system. It combines niche and regime analyses to assess the feasibility of a transition in the Dutch mobility system. For this, the following niches are considered: hybrid electric vehicles, battery-electric vehciles, car-sharing, biofuels, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and compact cities. The regime analysis is broken down into the following regimes: automobility, public transport, and cycling.

The UK mobility system

This study applies the Multi Level Perspective (MLP) on the UK mobility system. It combines niche and regime analyses to assess the feasibility of a transition in the UK mobility system. For this, the following niches are considered: hybrid electric vehicles, battery-electric vehciles, inter-modal ticketing, car-sharing, biofuels, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, urban cycling/sharing, and compact cities. The regime analysis is broken down into the following regimes: automobility, railway, bus, and cycling.

Sustainable Transport and Greater Manchester

This case challenges the commonly held view that local experimentation is a 'bottom-up‘ process and suggests that local experimentation can be strongly conditioned and structured by a combination of priorities of national and urban tiers of governance and limited local capacity to achieve these priorities. Local experimentation, in this view, is a response to national and urban priorities rather than locally embedded priorities.
